Blend: Trebbiano 70% and Sangiovese 30%
Description: It is an exclusive and unique product as every producer has his own wine making recipe.Since harvest 2003 Castelvecchio’s Vinsanto is obtained from a selection of white grapes and red grapes.In line with the ancient tradition, the best bunches of grapes are selected by hand in September and left to dry in an appropriate room until December/January producing a harmonious must with a high sugar concentration. Aged in small kegs (caratelli) for at least 5 years and further refinement in bottle.
Colour: Very deep amber.
Bouquet: Intensely perfumed with oxidized aroma’s that recall dried fruits, hints of chocolate, honey and slight enamel paint.
Taste: Moderately sweet and intense, harmoniously blended, intense and soft.
Alcohol: 14.5
Emotion: Enchanting sweetness.
Curiosity: This wine needs a constant commitment in the first process as patient devotion to every single phase of vinification that ‘s why this special wine is produced only in particular vintages. A story to tell:3 persons seated at a table drinking the upcoming Vinsanto ,looking for an original name it was late in the night ,silence all around they were having fun talking about good memories the bottle slowly finishes…in a sweet “Chiacchierata notturna”-talking at night”.
Serving suggestions: Excellent alone or with desserts, dried fruits and pastries. Good meditation wine.
